Sixteen High-Potential Palestinian Tech Startups that took part in the first cohort of the IGNITE Investment Readiness Program have pitched and presented to an audience of 100+ ecosystem players, including over 40 regional and international investors at the Virtual Startup Showcase on the 25th of October 2021.
What is IGNITE?
The IGNITE Investment Readiness program is a 10-week coach-led program to support ambitious Palestinian Startups and SMEs to prepare and raise equity investment. It is a part of the Ministry of National Economy’s Innovative Private Sector Development (IPSD) project, which is funded by the World Bank, and implemented by DAI. IGNITE is delivered in partnership with Rainmaking, uMake & Gaza Sky Geeks.
First Cohort Participating Startups Showcase Event
A virtual-physical showcase was pulled off where the founders pitched from separate venues in Gaza and Ramallah to an audience that tuned in from over 10 countries. The event was opened by Suha Awadalalh, the Director General of the Ministry of National Economy of Palestine & Jeremy Bauman from The World Bank, while the startups presented the hard work they put into the 10-week program & final pitches.

Those ambitious Palestinian startups are active across a wide range of sectors such as EdTech, AdTech, eCommerce, HealthTech, Smart Cities, and much more, who are looking to raise equity investment and take their startup to the next level. All founders are in the process of registering their business elsewhere besides Palestine (USA, UAE, Kuwait, Canada, UK). They have pitched and presented their businesses to raise funding from $100k up to $1M.
